The Association, founded in 1944, and affiliated to The Incorporated Association of Organists, is a registered charity that exists to provide a meeting place for all interested in organs and organ music and to develop the art of playing church organs.
We offer a networking opportunity for all organists and directors of music in the Peterborough area. Our members play in churches large and small and on a wide variety of instruments. Some members direct choirs as well, and others also work with music groups in their churches. Some just like listening to organ music, or exploring the mechanical side of the instrument.
We organise events which include organ crawls, social activities, recitals, educational activites and public lectures. Come and join us and enjoy both the beauty and the power of the organ!
Not restricted to just the Peterborough Diocese, the Association has members in and around Peterborough across northern Cambridgeshire, in Northamptonshire, Rutland and the southern part of Lincolnshire. Members meet occasionally for specific events, to exchange information and occasonal recitals.
We maintain close links with other organists' associations across the country and with national organisations dedicated to the support of organists in their work.
